Terrier Family of Dogs

The Terriers are small to medium-sized dogs which were developed for varmint hunting and control. The specific characteristic differences in breeds were developed to fit the area they were used, the type of vermin they were used on, and the size to fit those uses. The Terrier "type" has been known and recorded in the British Isles and Western and Eastern Europe since the Middle Ages.
