  Manchester Terrier

Quick Facts

Family: Terrier
Region of Origin: England
Originally used for ratting, rabbit hunting
Also known as Black and Tan Terrier
Height: 15-16"
Life Span: 15-16 years
Color: black and tan
Weight: 12-22 lbs
The Manchester Terrier is a lithe, agile, and powerful ratter and rabbiter. At one time the breed was hugely popular when rat baiting was fashionable, but now the breed is in decline due in part to the ban on ear cropping. Although the breed is short tempered, it makes a fine, lively, and robust companion.
