The German Spitz is a dog breed or group of dog breeds of the Spitz type. The German Spitz is usually divided into the following separate breeds:
  • German Spitz (Giant)
  • German Spitz (Toy)
  • German Spitz (Standard)

While this breed seems to be in decline, it makes a constant companion when trained. Its coat needs much attention as matts will form. The white-coated variety of the German Spitz closely resembles other small Spitz breeds, including the American Eskimo Dog and the Japanese Spitz.
